Deciphering the Code

Cara took a big brown marker and wrote on her pink sheets today. She blamed it on her little brother Christian. When threatened she told the truth. She was the perpetrator. Here is the conversation. I played both the good cop/bad cop parts in case you were wondering.

Bad Cop: If you don't tell me the truth, you are going to have a big consequence.

Cara: What?

Bad Cop: A spanking or something worse.

Good Cop: You know that when you wrote on your sheets that it was wrong, didn't you?

Cara: (Silence)

Good Cop: We have a rule that we only write on paper on our house. Right?

Cara: Yes.

Bad Cop: Tell the truth or else.

Cara: Well. Christian did it.

Bad Cop: Christian can't write letters or draw things like this.

Cara: Well, I did it. I'm so sorry, Mom.

Good Cop: What is that a picture of anyway?

Cara: Its a building.

Bad Cop: What do the letters spell?

Cara: (reading them out loud while she points to them). They say, "please, don't get me in trouble."

Good Cop/Bad Cop: (are laughing inside and twisting their faces into scowls to keep from smiling): You're free to go..
